Clips walk off Locos

MUSKEGON, MI – It's safe to say this Muskegon Clipper team is starting to find its stride. After a 3-2 walk-off win on Friday, they look to take a huge series win over the Lima Locos, who always seem to give the Clippers a competitive matchup. More importantly, the pitching staff that has seen its ups and downs so far this season has been stacking great outings throughout the past week. That continued on Friday as Muskegon used five total arms but was able to keep the Loco lineup at bay.

Tyler Finkbeiner made his fourth start of the season for Muskegon and was able to toss three solid innings, allowing just one hit and one run. Ty Randall and Zane Gregg each pitched two innings for Muskegon, giving up just one run between the two. Drew Diehl and Hudson Lubbers also came in relief, throwing one inning apiece.

The first inning ran a little long for Finkbeiner as he gave up the first run of the night and saw seven hitters.

Finkbeiner and the rest of the staff worked through the second up until the eighth inning scoreless. However, Muskegon was unable to get on the scoreboard until the seventh when Isaiah Domey demolished a two-run homer just inside the left-field foul pole.

Following the homer, it seemed as if momentum completely shifted, but that was until the Locos tied the game in the eighth on a single to left.

Domey came up big yet again in the ninth with a leadoff double. He would advance to third on a wild pitch.

Fast forward to Justin St. Antoine at the top of the order. With just one out, he was able to lift a ball deep enough to score Domey and send the Clipper faithful home happy.

The Clips are back on Saturday for a chance at a series win, and Sunday to close out a three-game set against the visiting Locos.
