HEAD COACH - Brian wright

The dean of area baseball coaches, this spring Brian started his 46th season as the Head Baseball Coach at Shelby High School, where he has amassed 630 career wins.  Coach Wright will be entering his 10th season as a member of the Clippers coaching staff and his first year as the Head Coach! Following an outstanding career at Grand Valley, Coach Wright began coaching high school baseball where he is regarded as one of the most knowledgeable coaches in West Michigan. In 2008 he was recognized for his impact on the game of baseball with his induction into the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame. Coach Wright serves as a teacher in the Shelby Public School and resides there with his wife Kelly. He is the proud father of Josh (wife Sarah), Kelsey and Hannah. Also, a proud grandfather of Cari and Emma. 

Pitching Coach - isiah Lindsey

Isiah Lindsey, a former 2 time Clippers pitcher (‘23, ‘24), comes to the Clippers from Tiffin University after previously serving as Director of Baseball Operations at Eastern Michigan University, where he gained valuable experience in the day-to-day operations and development of a Division I program. Prior to his time at EMU, Lindsey built his background as both a player and coach, with a strong focus on pitching and overall player development.

A native of Michigan, Lindsey completing his playing career at Eastern Michigan University in 2024, where he was a key arm out of the bullpen for the Eagles. He appeared in 22 games with one start, recording 27 strikeouts over 38 innings of work. He tallied a season-high six strikeouts in a 4.2 inning outing against Oakland on April 9.

Prior to EMU, Lindsey spent the 2023 season at Lansing Community College, where he made six appearances and three starts, posting a 2-0 record with a 3.44 ERA. He began his collegiate career at Lake Michigan College (2020-22), serving in multiple roles on the pitching staff. Over two seasons with the Red Hawks, he made 21 appearances with nine starts, totaling 86.2 innings pitched while striking out 64 batters and earning a 5-4 record.

A native of Spring Lake, Michigan, Lindsey was a four-year letterwinner at Spring Lake High School, where he served as a three-year captain under his father and head coach, Jeff Lindsey. He earned multiple honors including two First Team All-Conference and First Team All-District selections, as well as an All-Region nod.

Lindsey is currently pursuing his MBA in Sport Management at Tiffin University. He and his girlfriend reside in Findlay, Ohio, along with their son, Walker.

GENERAL MANAGER - WALT GAWKOWSKI

After retiring from coaching in 2021, Walt Gawkowski begins his first year as the GM of the Muskegon Clippers. A three-year letter winner at Central Michigan University, Coach Gawkowski was a member of the 1977 Mid-American Conference Championship Team which was recently inducted into the Central Michigan University Athletic Hall of Fame. The former Chippewa outfielder earned recognition in that year as an honorable mention selection to the Mid-American All-Conference Team. In 2013, Gawkowski was inducted into the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Recently retired, as an administrator at Mona Shores High School, Coach Gawkowski currently resides in Muskegon with his wife Joan. He is the proud father of two children, Amy Rodes (Carlo) and Annie Smith (Evan) and a proud grandfather of his four grandchildren Cece, Penny, Sutton., and Samantha.
